Dear Parents:

 

On Thursday, March 4, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, we will be presenting an evening of celebration in our school to showcase our programs. This evening is designed for parents only. We will soon be extending invitations to parents of our seventh grade students as well as parents of sixth grade students in our constituent elementary districts. This is a change from what was previously announced. We had hoped to host parents of all elementary students but unfortunately space and time limitations have made this impossible. Parents of eighth grade students will be invited to a similar program in the High School to be presented on February 10.

 

Our program will focus on three major objectives:

 

1. Overview of course offerings and programs for prospective seventh grade students

2. Overview of course offerings and programs for prospective eighth grade students

3. Showcase of signature programs and activities that our Middle School provides

 

Parents will be encouraged to visit locations about the building where students and faculty will demonstrate projects unique to their discipline. We will be showcasing our activities and athletic programs as well.

 

I also bring to your attention the fact that we will soon be administering a science skills assessment to eighth grade students that will support our course placement recommendations for next year. The test will consist of general questions regarding constructing graphs, analyzing data, and thinking scientifically.
